What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage) to make GetPrompt work correctly and to improve your experience.

Cookies We Use

Strictly Necessary (always active)
next-auth.session-token
Authenticates your session after signing in with Google. HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax. Expires after 30 days.
__Secure-next-auth.callback-url
Stores the page to return to after authentication. Session cookie.
__Host-next-auth.csrf-token
CSRF protection token for authentication requests. Session cookie.
Functional (local storage, not cookies)
pm_user, pm_google_profile
Stores your XP, level, streak, and profile locally for fast access. Never sent to a server. You can clear this from browser settings.
pm_generate_v*, pm_advisor_v*
Saves your in-progress prompt wizard state so you can resume if the page refreshes.
promptLanguage
Remembers your preferred output language for prompts.
Analytics (optional)

We currently use Vercel's built-in analytics which does not set cookies. No Google Analytics or third-party tracking is installed.

Third-Party Cookies

When you use our payment flow, Stripe may set cookies to detect fraud and process payments. These are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.

When you sign in with Google, Google sets cookies as part of their OAuth flow. These are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Managing Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.

  • Clear local storage: Browser DevTools → Application → Local Storage → Clear all
  • Clear cookies: Browser Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data
  • Block all cookies: Not recommended as it will break authentication
